MusiCares’ 2025 Wellness in Music survey found that 11.4% of respondents reported suicidal ideation in the last year — up from 8% the previous year and more than double the U.S. general population.
Suicide prevention is possible, but knowing what to look for is essential. MusiCares’ latest research shows what many already feel: that financial strain, isolation, and lack of access to care increase emotional distress and suicide risk across the industry.
