Tune In To Mental Health

For those working in music, the hustle and irregular schedule can make it hard to prioritize check-ins with yourself and those around you – but your mental health matters.

This space was created by MusiCares and The Jed Foundation (JED) to support suicide prevention and mental health awareness across the music industry, helping people who make the music possible take care of themselves and each other.

The Realities of the Business

MusiCares’ 2025 Wellness in Music survey found that 11.4% of respondents reported suicidal ideation in the last year — up from 8% the previous year and more than double the U.S. general population.

Musicians on the road

Suicide prevention is possible, but knowing what to look for is essential. MusiCares’ latest research shows what many already feel: that financial strain, isolation, and lack of access to care increase emotional distress and suicide risk across the industry. But it also points to what helps: connection, community, and open conversations about mental health and suicide prevention. It’s time we talk about it.
